Common Sense vs Speculation

Common sense and speculations have a very fine margin.
And people have always been found to fall one side or other.
So there's a thinking model for this. Assign a mental percentage to thoughts.
Like instead of saying
"I'm sure this will happen".
Its suggested to say
"I'm 70% sure this will happen" Or "40% etc"

This elaborates one's meaning much better.
