- Chapter 2 - Sankhya Yog
- Sankhya Yog = Yog of Knowledge
- uniting with knowledge
- This chapter is based on the Sankhya philosophy
- Knowledge from logical conclusions
- Ask questions
- This same philosophy is used in Upanishads
- They use the language of dialogues/conversation between student and teacher
- student ask question → teacher gives him guidance
- This is never to be taken without understanding. if you don’t understand ask questions
- Gita is in the same format
- Krishn bhagwan gives advice
- Arjun stops him if he doesn’t understands and asks for more clarifications
- Don’t take anything for granted without understanding it
- This chapter gives us a general idea of the core declarations from Veds
- We know from the modern knowledge how to give a great presentation
- There are 3 basic steps
-
Great Speech -
Tell them what you will tell them -
Then tell them -
then tell them what you told them
-
- Example
- we discuss what the topics of meetings before we start
- then we talk about the points
- and at the very end we share the action items of what we discussed
- This tradition was started by Rishi Ved Vyas
- chapter 2 will tell us what we will discuss in Gita
- chapter 3-17 will discuss all the topics
- chapter 18 will tell us what we discussed all thoughout Gita
- Yog of knowledge
- the first step is to assume that we don’t have knowledge
- only then you can proceed towards it
- Sankhya Yog = Yog of Knowledge
.. To be Contd.
